Automotive electrification is coming, and to support industry the MTA Institute has lodged its application to add AUR32721 Certificate III Automotive Electric Vehicle Technology to its scope. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who service, diagnose and repair battery electric vehicles and components in the automotive, service and repair industry, and who carry out work according to Australian Standards (AS) 5732 Electric vehicle operations – maintenance and repair.
In support of automotive businesses requiring Australian Automotive Service and Repair Authority (AASRA) subscription, the MTA Institute will be delivering the AURETH001 – depower and reinitialise battery electric vehicles unit of competency, state-wide and on-site at workplaces that have the correct tool, equipment and vehicles to perform training and assessment.
This is a pre-requisite in compliance with the new Australian information sharing law – that all dealer and independent technicians and employees who need access to information for HEVs, EVs, high-voltage systems and hydrogen-powered vehicles provide documentation to meet the legal requirements for a ‘fit and proper person’. This means completion of AURETH101 (or equivalent) – depower and reinitialise battery electric vehicles.
We look forward to supporting industry into the new automotive era.
