Terri Butler is a non-executive director and advisory board member across a number of organisations. She is a non-executive director and Vice President of the Smart Energy Council, the independent body for the Australian smart energy industry including solar, wind and storage. She is a member of the Advisory Board at Griffith University’s Climate Ready Initiative, a partnership-based social impact initiative that works with society to help shape a prosperous and just future for all. Terri chairs Bioenergy Australia’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel Alliance (Australia & New Zealand).
Terri is a former federal MP, and was most recently the shadow minister for the Environment and Water in the (then) Albanese Opposition. Prior to that role, she held various other portfolios including serving as Shadow Minister for Employment Services, Workforce Participation and Future of Work, and Shadow Minister for Young Australians and Youth Affairs. She was also the Deputy Chair of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Employment, Education and Training She is a former lawyer, and was the founding principal of Maurice Blackburn’s employment and industrial law practice in Queensland. Terri holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), and a Graduate Diploma in Economics.
