From July 1st, 2017, automotive businesses who employee apprentices will be able to claim a discount on their premium once their policy in renewed.
The ‘apprentice discount’ offered by WorkCover Queensland supports the Queensland Government’s plan to encourage businesses to hire apprentices, and MTA Institute strongly supports the initiative.
To qualify for the discount, an employer must employ and pay wages to at least one apprentice from July 1st onwards. The discount initiative will offer savings to employers by removing apprentice wages from their premium calculations resulting in huge premium savings. It is important to note that the level of cover offered to apprentices is not changing, and apprentices will continue to receive the same level of cover over the course of their employment.
The MTA Institute is the largest private provider of automotive apprenticeships and training in Queensland offering apprenticeships for many automotive disciplines at the Sir Jack Brabham 10 million dollar state-of-the-art facility.
