Pre-Vocational Course Delivers Jobs
The MTA Institute’s Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation course has been kicking goals lately in preparing people for a career in the automotive industry.
The course recently delivered by MTA Institute had 80 per cent of students find employment with automotive businesses.
The five-week, accredited course is designed to give students a comprehensive set of skills and introduce them to various career opportunities present in the automotive industry.
The intended outcome of the course is to increase the employability of the students and prepare them to potentially move into an automotive apprenticeship down the track.
With a large portion of recent graduates of the program moving into lines of work in the field, it suggests the course is certainly achieving its intended goal.
MTA Institute Operations Manager, Marcello Riotto, was pleased to see that the course was providing a real pathway for automotive enthusiasts to enter the field.
“The course is designed to give participants the chance to explore the potential of a career in the automotive industry and see if it is right for them,” said Riotto.
“To see such a strong success rate of trainees finding employment in the industry speaks volume about the course content.”
Riotto spent much of the five-week course with the students and said the work and dedication they had put in was now paying dividends with employment opportunities.
“The group were extremely diligent and attentive,” said Riotto. “Nearly all of them went out and took advantage of the time set aside for practical work experience. We are very fortunate to be in a position where we can offer students work experience with employer members of the Motor Trades Assocation of Queensland because of the connection between the training organisation and the industry body. They were all very motivated to make the most of the opportunity and to see them go on to employment with these businesses is a credit to them.”
The MTA Institute offers the five-week Certificate II course regularly throughout the year. The next course is scheduled to begin 3 February 2020.
