MIG Welding Fundamentals

DESCRIPTION

In this half day introductory course you will be taught basic knowledge and skills to set up a MIG welder and apply a variety of welds that would apply to:

  1. Vehicle restoration
  2. Hobby metal work
  3. Welding repairs

Course delivery will not only be hands on, but learners will also gain knowledge on:

  1. Types of welding equipment
  2. Uses and functions
  3. Proper equipment maintenance

VENUE

MTA Institute, Freeway Office Park, Building 8, 2728 Logan Road, Eight Mile Plains.

LENGTH

This is a half-day course being run from 8.30am to 12.30pm (morning tea provided)

MODE/S OF DELIVERY AND/OR ASSESSMENT

There is no assessment for this course and the mode of delivery is on-site at the MTA Institute’s training facility.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no entry requirements for this course. This is a non-accredited training program.

LEARNER REQUIREMENTS

MTA Institute is serious about safety. Learners must be prepared to use welding tools and equipment, therefore correct personal protective equipment must be worn (ie Long sleeve shirt, long trousers and steel capped work boots). Other protection such as welding masks, gloves and eye and ear protection will be provided.

NOTE: Each class size is limited to six learners. A statement of participation will be issued on successful completion of the course.
