DESCRIPTION
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of tasks relating to servicing and repairing air conditioning components and systems of cars and heavy vehicles. Competent completion of this qualification will enable the learner to apply for an AAC02 Refrigerant handling licence – qualified persons with the Australian Refrigeration Council.
PREREQUISITES
An automotive trade qualification (as listed above). A copy of your qualification including an academic transcript (list of units completed) is required to determine eligibility.
A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trainee Licence (refer to arctick.org for further information).
COURSE LENGTH
2 – 3 days of college-based training and assessment. 8:30am – 4:30pm daily. (Lunch and morning tea provided).
The course duration will depend on when you achieved your trade qualification and the currency of your experience. This will be confirmed on enrolment.
Other activities outside this timeframe will also be required. This includes reviewing the required resource material, completing online quizzes (a computer or similar device with internet connection will be required) and other practical activities to reinforce learning. These activities will contribute towards your competency assessment.

The course is held at the Sir Jack Brabham Automotive Centre of Excellence – MTA Institute, Freeway Office Park, Building 8, 2728 Logan Road, Eight Mile Plains, Queensland.

Non-member fee is $1,500 – $2,000 (incl GST)

LEARNER REQUIREMENTS
