MTA Institute attends the Ignite Youth Career Expo

On Tuesday the 24th of July, MTA Institute attended the 2018 Ignite Youth Careers Expo held at Logan Metro Sports & Events Centre.

Pitched for students and young adults aged between 14-24, the event was widely popular with an estimated 3,200 attendees streaming through the door to find options for their career pathways.

The MTA Institute sent along representatives for the automotive industry with tools and diagnostic equipment demonstrators and stacks of information ready for those potentially interested in the motor trades.

Marcello Riotto, Operations Manager of Training said, “The Ignite Youth Careers Expo was, from the MTA Institute’s perspective, an enormous success.

“We had several staff members on site and were run off our feet with attendees showing genuine interest in pursuing a career in the automotive industry and considering training options in various automotive areas.

“It was very pleasing to see the high level of interest coming from the participants; and it shows a lot of promise in the next generation of enthusiastic automotive professionals.”

The MTA Institute offers a number of high school courses for those potentially interested in an automotive career pathway.

Auto Camp, a three-day school holiday program is aimed at students between 14-17 and gives hands-on experience in a range of different automotive skills. Find out more.

In addition to this, MTA Institute offers the AUR20716 Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation. This five-week course is designed to give students a comprehensive set of skills as a basic introduction to the automotive industry, and with over 77 per cent of completed participants securing gainful employment through this course; it is a viable option for those wishing to get into the industry.
