Brabham documentary to premiere at Brisbane International Film Festival
The Brisbane International Film Festival is set to play host to the Australian premiere of ‘Brabham’ a documentary on the incredible life of Australian Formula one champion Sir Jack Brabham on Sunday 6th October.
Directed by Australian film director Ákos Armont, the documentary takes an unprecedented look into the life of Brabham with footage and photos sourced from the international motorsport community around the world.
The most successful Australian driver in Formula 1 history, Sir Jack is a three-time Formula 1 world champion who revolutionised the sport on his way to world titles in 1959,1960 and 1966. He also made history when he became the first driver to win an F1 Championship in one of their own cars after he won the 1966 championship in a Brabham car.
Brabham visited the MTA Institute in 2012 to open the Sir Jack Brabham Automotive Centre of Excellence, a $10-million state-of-the-art facility named in recognition of his reputation as an innovator and trailblazer who revolutionised the sport of motor racing.
The premiere will be held as a red-carpet event at Reading Cinemas Newmarket in conjunction with the Brisbane International Film Festival. There will also be a discussion and Q&A session held with Armont and producer Antony Waddington. The premiere is set to take place at 2pm on Sunday 6th October with a second viewing option on Wednesday 9 October at 6:30pm.
