Looking to the future and thinking about where the automotive industry is going can be exciting and somewhat frustrating. Exciting, in that the new technologies emerging, and the level of
sophistication is mind blowing; frustrating, in that there is so much going on in the automotive industry, it is difficult to know where to begin to draw a clear path!
We’ve always been innovative, are the leaders in automotive training, and now are in the process of creating an accredited Hybrid Electric Vehicle Inspection and Servicing Skill Set to support the
industry with the growth of this sector. Clear the path and watch this space!
We’ve also got our first Auto Camp coming up in July. We’re are always trying to engage with schools and this opportunity allows students to experience parts of the automotive spectrum that they wouldn’t necessarily think about. We know the automotive industry is evolving rapidly through technology and we need to have other angles to show how broad the automotive industry is – it’s not just spinning filters off cars – and that there are many opportunities in dealerships and other specialist areas that might excite a youngster to pursue a career in the automotive industry and, hopefully, through this course, we can show them what’s happening now and into the future.
I’m also looking forward to participating in the upcoming Multicultural Development Australia Speed Mentoring event. This event is an opportunity for young people to connect with professionals from different industries and get some advice on their career/education aspirations. I’m looking forward to understanding the needs of these young people from a refugee or migrant background, of hearing their stories, journeys, aspirations and motivations and hopefully assist them in boosting their confidence and understanding of the Australian job market. We have a diverse industry and we also need to look at a diverse workforce.
I hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe Easter break!
